Wood Trip to Slovenia! in Oktober 2017!

In Oktober 2017 i traveled all the way down to Slovenia to buy amazing AAA grade Moon Spruce. 8 days of hardcore selecting wood, i have looked through 25 m³ of tonewood. I handselected every piece to be made into a guitar someday. I checked it for straight grain, Quatersawn, Density, Fiber quality and feel. I bought enouth Moonspruce for around 20 years of guitar making. I would like to take you through this amazing journey with my photographs.

After 8 days we had gone through 25 m³ of Tonewood. Selecting them all on quality. In the end, I selected about 2 m³ for myself.

It was a amazing experience. I learnt so much in these 8 days. It was pure fun and enjoyment. We worked 10 hours a day but it was well worth it. A big highlight for me. Dear Dries, Thanks for all the thing you have shown me and all the amazing discussion we had while selecting woods. Take care my friend.
